Andrea Deslandes has a degree in Physical Education and Sports from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Master and PhD in Mental Health from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She has a post-doctoral in Epidemiology and Quantitative Methods from the National School of Public Health (ENSP / FIOCRUZ). She is coordinator of the Exercise Neuroscience Laboratory (Lanex).
Doctor Deslandes is Adjunct professor at the Psychiatry Institute of UFRJ (IPUB / UFRJ) and PROPSAM / UFRJ. She is collaborating professor at PPGCEE / UERJ, Member of the Task Force on Integrative and Complementary Medicine at the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry and Member of the National Science for Education Network (CpE). Member of the Gerontology Technical Chamber of the Brazilian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology RJ (SBGG-RJ). Researcher at the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory on Aging at UFRJ (LAMPE / UFRJ). Coordinator of the PROAPTIVA extension project at UFRJ.
Receives financial support from FAPERJ of the Scientist of Our program and CNPq productivity grant (Pq2). Responsible for the follow projects: Exercise in the treatment of depression, Cognitive Decline and Alzheimer’s disease; Effect of Capoeira on children’s executive function and school performance; Motor biomarkers in Dementia, Depression and Anxiety in the elderly; Barriers and facilitators for the practice of physical exercise in patients with mental disorders.
