PROGRAM
The Postgraduation Program in Psychiatry and Mental Health of the Institute of Psychiatry of UFRJ (IPUB) – PROPSAM, created in 1972 is responsible for the training of docents and researchers who have become leaders in their respective areas of expertise and recognized nationally and internationally.
MISSION AND VISION
Our MISSION is to promote the interdisciplinary training of docents of excellence and leaders in research in the areas of Psychiatry and Mental Health for the benefit of human health and social well-being. Our VISION of the future is to be recognized as a national and international center in scientific research and in the training of highly qualified professionals to work in the various areas and institutions of Psychiatry and Mental Health.
STRUCTURE
With two areas of concentration in Psychiatry and Mental Health, we offer training at master’s, doctorate, and post-doctoral levels. We have laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offer our students the possibility of being guided by recognized experts in their respective areas of expertise, the partnership with several national and international institutions of excellence and an environment conducive to interdisciplinarity.
LOCATION
Our facilities are located on the UFRJ campus of Praia Vermelha, a bucolic area adorned with gardens and centuries-old trees that provide a unique environment for the development of our activities. A true urban oasis located between the neighborhoods of Botafogo and Urca in Rio de Janeiro, the Institute of Psychiatry is within easy reach and is close to shopping malls, restaurants, and the main sights of the Wonderful City.
