Postgraduation Program in Psychiatry and Mental Health

Laboratory of Studies and Research in Psychopathology and Subjectivity (LEPPS)

Coordinator:

email: domserpa@gmail.com

LEPPS was created in 2004, with the proposal to study the subjective experiences and the narratives produced by the subjects affected by mental disorders, in their process of illness, treatment and personal recovery. We understand the psychopathological phenomenon as embodied and situated, therefore subject to the social markings of the difference (class, gender, race / color, religious belonging, age range, etc.) and to the cultural, economic and political determinants of psychological and social suffering.
We work guided by qualitative research methodologies in mental health, with an emphasis on crossing perspectives from the phenomenological method, (auto) ethnographic and participatory / collaborative research. The laboratory has a meeting and work room, with three computers, a Datashow projector, digital recorders and a small library.
