PROJAD has been carrying out teaching, research and assistance activities since 1996. It carries out research in the area of ​​Assessment of Assistance Services for Alcohol and Drug Problems.
Service Assessment surveys under development include:
1 – Building Bridges: Factors Associated with Experiences of Violence and Mental Health in the Favelas da Maré/Rio de Janeiro;
2– Study on treatment adherence. The impact of impulsivity and personality characteristics on treatment adherence;

Study 1 is funded through a call for papers (Grant ES/S000720/1) from the UKRI Global Challenges Research Fund, jointly administered by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and Economic and Social Research Council of Great Britain. Study 2 is funded by EDITAL FAPERJ Nº 15/2019 – PROGRAM
NETWORKS OF HEALTH RESEARCH IN THE STATE OF RIO DE JANEIRO – 2019.

In both studies, PROJAD is one of the research centers and the principal investigator responsible for funding is from another institution, respectively Queen Mary University of London and Fundação Oswaldo Cruz. Teaching activities include conducting a specialization and extension course in the field of alcohol and drugs and participating in undergraduate courses in medicine and psychology. Currently, PROJAD funds add up to: BRL 3,469,595.00 + BRL 71,800.00 + BRL 1,034,300.00 totaling BRL 4,575,695.00.
