Her main area of research is Neurosciences, working mainly on the subject of Neurobiology of Human Emotion and in psychophysiological studies related to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The lines of research employ multi and transdisciplinary approaches to investigate (i) neural substrates and factors of vulnerability and resilience in the face of traumatic events, and (ii) neural substrates and behaviors associated with implicit motivation for social attachment. Social problems such as the effects of exposure to urban violence and the consequences of social isolation are the focus of research. Research developments are expected to provide subsidies for the prevention and treatment of harmful effects on mental and physical health due to stress and social isolation.
