The Research Laboratory on Bipolar Disorder, created in November 2002, is dedicated to clinical studies on bipolar disorder (TB), of an observational or experimental nature, using quantitative methods. It receives master’s and doctoral students, who can be doctors (psychiatrists) or other mental health professionals. To date, there have been five defenses for a master’s thesis and one for a doctoral thesis. About 50 articles were published in national and international journals, in addition to 5 book chapters. The laboratory is based on a specific clinic for the care of patients suffering from TB, which has five rooms, where approximately 150 patients are treated. Currently, the main research projects are related to psychopathology, cognition, weight and eating habits, suicide, creativity, psychotherapy and motor activity.
